Starbucks Mobile Ordering Comes to the UK

Starbucks mobile orderingStarbucks has launched a trial of its Mobile Order & Pay service in the UK.

The ability to pre-order drinks and food via the brands iOS app is rolling out to over 150 London stores from today.

Users are going an approximate collection time, enabling them to skip the queue and pick up the order directly from the barista – which Starbucks claims saves around 10-15 minutes.

In the US, where Mobile Order & Pay completed its roll-out to all 7,400 branches last month, mobile accounts for 20 per cent of its in-store transactions – an incredible 9m orders each week.

“We Brits are famous for queuing, but in an age of such sophisticated technology, why wait?” said Ian Cranna, Starbucks VP marketing & category, EMEA. “With more people leading busier lifestyles than ever, saving minutes can really help, so we are excited to be bringing Mobile Order & Pay to our London customers – the first to have this feature outside of the US.”
