Starbucks has partnered with Postmates to pilot a home delivery service in Seattle.
Users of the Starbuck iOS app in the participating area will be able to place their order as usual through the Mobile Order & Pay service, then select delivery.
Once complete, the order will be transmitted to Postmates system, and a courier will be dispatched to the closest Starbucks store to collect and deliver it within a 60-minute window.
“Our customers are highly engaged with Mobile Order & Pay, placing 5m transactions a month, so delivery becomes a natural extension that provides another easy and convenient way to meet them where they are in their day,” said Starbucks chief digital officer Adam Brotman.
The pilot covers downtown Seattle, South Lake Union, Capitol Hill, Madison Park and the Sodo area.
