Starbucks has expanded its mobile ordering and payment solution across the UK, with the system now available on iOS and Android devices in 300 branches, fully integrated with the brands popular loyalty scheme.
The solution enables customers to use the app to order food and drinks from their current location and pick their closest branch to pick up from, providing them with an approximate waiting time and allowing them to skip the queue when they arrive.
The system, which was rolled out in the US last year and has also just arrived in Canada, also enables staff to better plan for busy periods, and lets them concentrate on preparing beverages and food rather than taking orders.
“Were really proud of Starbucks Mobile Order and Pay, the newest, fastest and most innovative way to but coffee on the go,” said Ian Cranna, vice president of marketing & category for EMEA at Starbucks. “It has seen high demand and were excited to be bringing it to Starbucks customers across the country.
“Weve responded to our customers on-the-go lifestyles by offering them greater convenience, with Mobile Order & Pay providing the ability to customise their drink and food orders and access exclusive opportunities to earn Stars with My Starbucks Rewards.”
