Starhome and KPN Partner for VAS

Starhome has signed a partnership agreement with KPN to jointly target the roaming Value Added Services (VAS) market. The agreement will allow KPN to provide a portfolio of hosted roaming solutions that are based upon Starhomes technology, including Intelligent Preferred Network (IPN), which enables a network to dynamically steer outbound roamers to preferred VPMNs (Visited Public Mobile Networks); Home Short Code (HSC), which provides roamers with access to home-based VAS, with the same short codes they use at home; and Intelligent Call Assistant (ICA), which helps to improve call completion rates and customer satisfaction.
The offering is targeted at small and mid-sized mobile network operators, virtual operators and mobile groups with hosted solutions who do not want third party equipment on their site. Starhome supplies the roaming technologies and applications. KPN offers a total roaming package, in which management of the solutions at KPN premises and consultation are crucial elements. However, the customer can also choose to have an in-house solution.
Starhomes roaming VAS adds value to KPNs existing voice, data and Mobile Matrix portfolio and creates a single point of contact for operators when purchasing essential international mobile services. This partnership has already proved to be successful, says Starhome, with three European mobile operators already implementing the joint solutions.
Our goal is to provide our mobile customers with the highest quality VAS services, allowing them to make the most of the mobility advantage says KPN Global Carrier Services Managing Director Edwin van Ierland. Thanks to our worldwide presence and Starhomes expertise in this business sector, we are delighted to be in a position to offer our customers premium mobile communication solutions.
