SuperAwesome, a digital marketing platform specialising in kid-safe content, has completed a $7m (£4.5m) Series A round of funding.
Founded in 2013, SuperAwesome works with family brands including Hasbro, Mattel and LEGO to help them reach an under-13 audience, and with publishers to ensure ad content is age-appropriate. Most recently, it launched Kids Web Services, to help clients ensure they comply with data privacy legislation around this age group.
The funding round is led by IBIS TMT, Twenty Ten Capital and Sandbox & Co, with existing investors including Hoxton Ventures also participating. SuperAwesome says the funding will be used to accelerate growth of their team in North America and continue expansion in Southeast Asia.
“SuperAwesome now holds an critical position within the kids industry,” said CEO Dylan Collins. “Our technology ensures that hundreds of millions of digital ads every month are delivered in a completely safe and appropriate way for kids. At the same time, we are a key revenue source for content creators around the world and our platform is directly funding the growth of the next Peppa Pig or Moshi Monsters.
“Because of the market need for what we do, our growth has been considerable. However this investment round allows us to accelerate even further.”
