Surfkit Mediation Launches

Surfkitchen, which specialises in On-Device Portal (ODP) applications, has announced the commercial availability of SurfKit Mediation, its on-device analytics and evaluation tool that lets operators analyse and manage the entire lifecycle of their mobile data services.
First unveiled at Mobile World Congress in February, SurfKit Mediation is part of the SurfKit Phonetop suite of products. It provides a powerful set of analytics tools, enabling operators to interrogate key metrics associated with mobile data services. By tracking specific events within the on-device portal experience – such as how an application is being accessed, usage habits and popularity – SurfKit Mediation generates a compelling insight into what services consumers really value and take advantage of and, crucially, how they can be improved in-life to increase data revenues.
By deploying SurfKit Mediation, the company says, operators can identify which services work well and importantly, where there are opportunities for improvement. This deploy, measure, refine model means that operators can make relevant modifications over-the-air, improving their services throughout the product lifecycle and enhancing the overall user experience.
With such a wide array of new services available, mobile marketers face the challenge of understanding what they should deploy, says SurfKitchen CEO, Michel Quazza. The problem has always been how to capture data when the experience is remote on the mobile handset. SurfKit Mediation allows operators to track key metrics in a live environment with the information sent back to them when the ODP updates.
Other applications within the SurfKit Phonetop suite include SurfKit Home (home screen personalisation); SurfKit Widget Framework (Java/XML-based environment for rapid development and deployment of mobile applications); SurfKit Downloads (an on-device storefront), SurfKit Stream (providing easy access to video streaming, music and TV); and SurfKit Event (on-device rich content application for time-related events).
