SwiftKey Goes Free, Monetises with Premium Themes

Android keyboard app SwiftKey has adopted a freemium business model, abandoning its $3.99 price point and enabling users to download the app for free.
The move comes as part of an update to the app, which also adds a range of 800 emoticons, which can be predicted by SwiftKey’s trademark learning engine, and improvements to the underlying technology – but the biggest addition is the SwiftKey Store. This is where SwiftKey is intending to monetise its app, selling premium themes which enable users to reskin the keyboard for $1 each. 
Users who have previously paid to download SwiftKey will receive a free download of 10 of these themes.
