mCommerce and messaging company Sybase 365 has launched an app-based push messaging service. App engagement, push messaging and monetisation platform Urban Airship will provide Sybase with developer tools and resources that enable enterprises to add push messaging capabilities to apps. The platform also includes browser-based interfaces that enable users to create, target and analyze the results of messages. These services will also be available to mobile operators and OEMs through Sybase 365.
“Mobile device technology and the adoption of mobile apps are changing the game for mobile marketing, enabling intimate and context sensitive customer interaction and transactions,” says John Sims, president of Sybase 365. “Our SybasePush 365 messaging service, enabled through our partnership with Urban Airship, will help usher in a new era of mobile customer engagement that enables enterprises to leverage cross-channel integrated marketing communications strategies to increase lifecycle interactions and deliver exceptional customer experiences.”
Sybase 365 also announced that it has passed the milestone of two trillion messages processed. The number includes SMS and MMS sent person-to-person and application-to-person, originating from a Sybase 365 customer or incoming from another, peered hub.
It took eight years to get to the first trillion messages, in July 2011. With Sybase 365 processing more than 1.8bn messages daily, it has taken only nine months to achieve the second.
