Synchronica Signs Dominican Deal

Mobile email and synchronisation company Synchronica has signed a contract worth an initial $250,000 (170,000) with the subsidiary of a leading mobile operator group in the Dominican Republic.
The contract is the first deal secured by the company with the operator, which will use Synchronicas Mobile Gateway 4.0 solution to deliver mobile email to its entire user base. The service will include Mobile Gateways new email-to-SMS and email-to-MMS functionality to provide mobile email to even the most basic handsets, which continue to dominate this market. Synchronica will also provide professional services, support and hosting to the operator.
With broadband and PC penetration still very restricted across Latin America, Mobile Gateway offers users access to email from their mobile phones and can provide a key pillar for a mobile Internet strategy. According to Fitch Ratings, Latin American telecoms operators remain healthily positioned in the current economic climate, thanks to strong cash flow generation, moderate-to-low leverage and generally good debt maturity profiles.
This contract shows once again that Synchronicas software can bring real benefits to operators looking to reduce churn, attract customers and raise ARPU in highly competitive emerging markets such as Latin America, says Synchronica CEO, Carsten Brinkschulte. Now that Mobile Gateway 4.0 is proving its significant capability, our pipeline has never been stronger andwe are seeing many sales opportunities such as these that we are confident of capitalising on.
