T-Mobile Selects Sharpcards

Mobile messaging company Sharpcards has reached an exclusive agreement with T-Mobile UK to embed its Enhanced Mobile Messaging Application (EMMA), on selected T-Mobile devices.
Under terms of the three-year agreement, EMMA will be embedded within the messaging menu of the handsets concerned. EMMA enables T-Mobile customers to send e-cards by putting the service in front of the customer at a time when they are texting.
The company describes the EMMA e-cards as: picture messages fun and flirty animations for everyday sending, from the worlds top brands. EMMA comes in Java and Symbian versions, and is a fully integrated part of the handset software, requiring no further installation by the customer. Content is continually updated and the customer does not pay a data fee to access the e-cards.
The e-card is sent as an MMS message, with the customer paying their normal MMS rate of 20p, plus an additional 75p, for each e-card. Once a particular e-card has been bought, it is stored on the phone and can be used as often as the customer likes, without paying the 75p premium again.
We are always looking at innovative ways to give our customers a better, entertaining and more enjoyable experience, says T-Mobile Head of Portal & Application Products, Deborah Porton. We know from experience that our customers like sending animated cards, and we are excited to be working with Sharpcards to offer our customers a fully integrated experience that brings mobile content straight to their messaging menu and is simple and fun to use.
