Captures platform at work

Tagboard, the company responsible for the live tweet displays at everything from sporting events to the Democratic and Republican National Conventions, has acquired user-generated content authorisation platform Capture.

Founded in 2012, Capture offers a platform for news companies to find, license and publish photos and videos shared on Twitter and Instagram. Its clients include CNN, The Weather Channel and BuzzFeed.

The terms of the acquisition have not been disclosed, but Tagboard says it will retain the majority of the existing Capture team, and continue to support the acquired companys products independently as well as folding their features into its own offering.

“By acquiring Capture, Tagboard isn’t just going to gain a new office location and social content licensing capabilities,” said Capture CEO and co-founder Jordan Osher. “Most importantly, we’re putting together an incredible team with the best in development, sales, strategy, and design. Tagboard is going to be the ultimate social content company for businesses not just because of our product, but because of our people.”
