TechFaith to Use Red Bend Software in China

Chinese wireless communications firm TechFaith is to deploy Red Bend Softwares technology in its devices.

Mobile software management firm Red Bend Software says TechFaith has licensed its vRapid Mobile firmware over-the-air (FOTA) updating solution and vDirect Mobile device management software for use in mobile phones and other connected devices running on Qualcomms AMSS and Brew MP platforms.

TechFaith has so far shipped five Red Bend-Enabled Qualcomm smartphones – the aigo a700, QIGI WG1, WG TWIN, WG-Ginny and WG-Scepter. All are 3G WCDMA customised dual-mode/SIM handsets developed for China Unicom, one of the countrys three largest mobile network operators.

“China is one of the worlds most competitive mobile markets,” said Danny Wang, country manager of Greater China for Red Bend Software. “Getting high-performance, feature-rich, reliable smartphones into consumers hands as quickly as possible is essential for carriers in China and worldwide. Red Bends experienced technical support team provides TechFaith and our other customers with the support they need to integrate Red Bends software in their mobile devices quickly and easily, which enables them to meet carriers quality demands and tight product shipping schedules.”
