Telcos have emerged as the highest spending vertical in Europe when it comes to mobile ads, in a report from mobile ad network madvertise. Telcos, holding the top spot at 20.3 per cent of total spend, are followed by media (17.9 per cent), FMCG (10.3 per cent), and technology (9.1 per cent).
“The relevance of mobile devices as an important channel for campaign has increased dramatically, across all industries,” says Brandon Keenen, MD, madvertise. “In addition, the advertising industry has increased budgets for the mobile channel in 2011 again significantly. The campaign volume of madvertise grew by more than 250 per cent last year.”
The companys madreport – which draws its findings from madvertises European network of over 1.6bn monthly page impressions – also showed the biggest growth rates in spending. This was led by FMCG, growing at 1,700 per cent, followed by education (1,200 per cent) and Telcos (800 per cent).
