Tele Atlas and AtlasCT Map Out a Deal

Tele Atlas, which provides digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location-based solutions, has revealed that it is supplying global digital maps to AtlasCT, a developer of worldwide mobile mapping solutions.
AtlasCT has successfully linked the mobile phone with a series of
map-based applications that have been adopted by leading phone makers
and network operators. The applications run on Internet-enabled mobile
phones to access maps, POIs and additional information provided by Tele
Atlas and other suppliers. The data is held on servers located around
the globe, ensuring high availability and scalability.
Through the new agreement, Tele Atlas will provide comprehensive, up-to-date digital maps, along with rich points of interest (POI) information, to support AtlasCTs location-based services applications such as cometogethr, City Cruiser and reLive!
Laurent De Hauwere, Vice President, Marketing EMEA at Tele Atlas, says the two companies
share a strong belief in the future of wireless mapping applications, and that they will explore opportunities in additional market segments, such as fleet management and geographic information systems (GIS), combining their expertise to help create new solutions and new business opportunities.
For AtlasCT, General Manager, Danny On, says:
Tele Atlas global map coverage and enhanced information will enable us to leverage our offering for both mobile and web platforms. Tele Atlas believes strongly in the future of the mobile mapping market just as we do. Together, we can set the quality standard for this most challenging market and develop exciting new location-aware services.
