Telecom Personal Rolls Out Personal E-M@il

Telecom Personal, the mobile subsidiary of Telecom Argentina, has launched Personal E-M@il, a mass market push email service based on Synchronica’s award-winning Mobile Gateway middleware. The service enables Telecom Personal subscribers to enjoy push email and synchronization services without needing to upgrade or replace their existing mobile handsets.

With 15m subscribers, Telecom Personal is one of the leading mobile carriers operating in an extremely competitive market. The company is investing heavily in data-focused Value Added Services, and is increasing its transmission and bandwidth infrastructure to support this. Synchronicas Mobile Gateway provides Telecom Personal with an value-added messaging service that aims to increase overall subscriber revenues and improve customer loyalty.

The service is available to any Telecom Personal subscriber, and uses the built-in email and synchronization clients, as well as Email-to-MMS and Email-to-SMS, to support any handset connected to the network. The service is provided on an unlimited basis, at a flat monthly rate of 9 Argentinian Pesos ($2.30/£1.48).

“Personal E-M@il is strategically very important to Telecom Personal,” says Telecom Personal marketing director, Ignacio Nores. “From the beginning, we were resolute that the service must be user-friendly, client-less based and accommodate the circumstances of each of our customers, regardless of the type of handset they own. Synchronica Mobile Gateway ticks all of these boxes, and is proving itself to be an innovative and valuable addition to our portfolio of Value Added Services.”
