Teletext Launches First Android Apps

Teletext Mobile has launched its first Android apps, the Teletext Holiday Phrasebooks. The phrasebooks contain thousands of useful phrases for holidaymakers when travelling in Europe.

The first two phrase books to launch are French and Spanish, currently available for 99p, with further languages being rolled out in the marketplace in the coming weeks.

The French and Spanish phrasebooks have been Teletext Mobile’s strongest performing iPhone phrasebooks and among the most popular in the app store, which has led to them being the first to be rolled out to the Android audience.

“The Android platform has seen exponential growth over the last 12 months and we are well aware that it has become a force to be reckoned with,” says Neil Johnson, managing director of Teletext Mobile’s parent company, A&N Media – Mobile and TV. “We will be launching an increasing number of apps on Android, putting some of our most popular (ones) on there along with brand new apps. As a leading publisher, development on Android has been part of our plans for a long time and as we now approach a tipping point in adoption, now is very much the time for action.”
