Tesco, the Body Shop, Seatwave and eFlorist are among the first British brands to trial an iOS-only performance couponing tool delivered via Apple’s Passbook wallet.
The solution, created by the Tradedoubler affiliate network and wallet tech provider Passforce, can remind shoppers about coupons they have using a push message, as well as send people to use coupons at paricipating stores nearby and offer further vouchers when the ones they have expire.
The trial begins on affiliate sites like Netvouchercodes.co.uk, where users can download relevant coupons. The vouchers have tracking technology embedded into them that lets the brand know when the offer has been redeemed.
“We now have the ability to help improve conversion, even after the customer has left an affiliate website,” said Neil Ranatunga, head of mobile in the UK at Tradedoubler. “By driving more sales for our clients and more commission for our affiliates from the same level of traffic, we believe that Tradedoubler’s Passbook solution opens the door to a brand new way of improving brands’ voucher code performance.”
Tradedoubler believes this is the first example of this kind of solution being offered by an affiliate network.
