Text Alerts Service Responds to Terror Threat

Mobile solutions provider Incentivated has revealed that it sent 20,000 text messages to British Airways passengers, cabin crew and cargo staff during the recent terror alert in the UK from 10 14 August, alerting them about flight delays and cancellations caused by the emergency security measures.
An average of 23 people per flight were informed by SMS about a delay or cancellation, with one flight on the first day of the disruption seeing 89 SMS alerts. The alerts were delivered to passengers and crew in 87 countries, with the majority in the UK.
This is a perfect illustration of how mobile marketing enables airlines to communicate quickly and easily with customers, by providing real-time travel information so they can avoid the inconvenience caused by flight disruptions says Incentivated Commercial Director, Robert Thurner. In addition, there was a heavy volume of texts sent informing passengers that services are getting back to normal.
Incentivated was appointed by BA to run its text alerts service in December last year.
