That Was The Week That Was

Phew. I don’t know about you, but I’ve found the last few days pretty mad in terms of news. Vodafone launched Vodafone 360 in an attempt to help people cope with their use of multiple social networks, among other things. O2 unveiled a virtual mobile network that will be run by its users. That’s the plan anyway, more or less. O2 scored another coup, securing the Palm Pre exclusively for the UK. PhoneValley struck a deal to sell ads across Microsoft’s mobile web properties, while YOC agreed a similar deal with 3 UK to sell ads on its ‘Favourites’ application. And to end a hectic week, GeoVector unveiled its ‘World Surfer’ augmented reality app for the iPhone. Once you’ve seen augmented reality in action, you don’t forget it in a hurry. All that, and much more too, in the space of just five short days.
This level of activity, energy and innovation is what makes the mobile space so exciting. It’s why we launched the site almost four years ago, and we’ve enjoyed every minute of covering the mobile marketing scene since.
We’ll be back with more on Monday. Until then, enjoy the weekend, and if you haven’t had time to keep up with it all, take advantage of the downtime over the next couple of days to check back in and catch up at your leisure.
