Diversion Media has launched an iPhone application for the GRAMMY awards. It says the Guess the GRAMMYs, app is the first social media app for a major entertainment awards show.
The app is part of the 52nd Annual GRAMMY Awards pre-show community efforts.  Guess the GRAMMY is a free game for the iPhone which enables fans to challenge their friends on GRAMMY trivia. The app also acts as a showcase for the award shows performances, offering a trove of exclusive photos. 
In the game, fans can browse nominees from 21 categories, select winners, and register selections. After the awards, registrants will receive an e-mail telling them how their gueses fared. In the Challenge Your Friends section, players can invite friends to join a GRAMMY group, inviting them through their iPhone contacts via e-mail. After the show, players will learn how their guesses fared versus their friends guesses. The Did You Know? section includes images and trivia from 50 years of GRAMMY history.
