The Guardian Launches on Kindle

Guardian News and Media has launched digital Kindle editions of the Guardian and the Observer newspapers. The digital newspapers are available for daily download from the Amazon store

Readers can purchase monthly subscriptions for £9.99, or download a single daily edition for 99p. The Kindle editions are available in over 100 countries around the world.

The Kindle editions of the newspaper carry all the content from that days print edition, including the G2 supplement on weekdays and the weekend magazines such as The Guide and Observer Food Monthly

The newspaper downloads to your device automatically so it is ready to read each morning. Signing up for a subscription to the digital edition includes a 14-day free trial.

The company has also made several announcements concerning other digital editions. The company says it is close to releasing a iPad-specific edition of the Guardian, on a subscription app model.

The Guardian is also readying an Android app, which it says is due in Autumn, as well as a native app for the HP TouchPad called Guardian Zeitgeist
