The X Factor Gets an App

Nokia, the official mobile partner for The X Factor 2010, talkbackTHAMES digital, Syco Entertainment and ITV have jointly announced that The X Factor 2010 mobile app will be available to download from the Ovi Store from tomorrow, Friday 3 September. The app is compatible with a broad range of Nokia smartphones including the Nokia N8.

The X Factor app, a first for the show, will offer news, backstage gossip and hot stories from the show, as well as exclusive video content and a photo gallery of the acts and judges. Users can also exchange views with fellow fans through the rating function and via Facebook and Twitter. The app also offers competitions to win X Factor prizes.

The app consists of four phases that mirror the four stages of the show: live auditions; boot camp; judges’ mentoring; and public vote. Each will bring new content, games and functions to keep fans connected to the show.

The X Factor 2010 app is yet another exciting way for fans to engage with this year’s show, contributing to a richer and more immersive experience for our audience, and offering fans the chance to get even closer to all the action and stars in the making,” says Kate Bradshaw, deputy MD and head of online commissioning at ITV.
