Three Quarters of UK Smartphones Arent Password Protected

75 per cent of UK smartphones arent password protected – that’s according to insurance provider Gadget-Cover. Thats concerning, given that around 10 per cent of people store banking or financial passwords on their phones – and 25 per cent have ‘racy’ photos of themselves or their partners on their phones.
In better news, however, around 50 per cent of all lost mobile phones will find their way back to their owners. 
“Our research indicates that 65 per cent of people finding a lost mobile phone will try to access photos, and about a third will try to access banking information,” Carmi Korine, director of Gadget-Cover parent company Supercover. “Many respondents who didnt use a password said that they used their phones so frequently that it was a nuisance having to type it in every few minutes – but we’d urge people to think very carefully about what they have stored on their phones.”
