TIMWE, which offers mobile marketing, entertainment and money services, is to launch its NFC applications in MaxiPlus5, a new handset from the Turkish mobile operator, Turkcell.
The launch will see TIMWE’s NFC Launcher and NFC Loyalty applications installed within Turkcell’s ‘Cep-T Cuzdan’ NFC-based mobile wallet service on the handsets.
The MaxiPlus5 phones come complete with an NFC-enabled fridge magnet. Users tap on the tag with their phones to access the application. Once in the app, they can access participating companies product portfolio to browse and buy products. The app is server-based, enabling product details to be updated in real time.
“We have opened a new era with Turkcell Cep-T Cüzdan, having become the first operator in the world to introduce a commercially available mobile wallet solution, supporting multi-bank applications based on a MasterCard solution,” said Turkcell chief new technology business officer,” Cenk Bayrakdar. “Now, in collaboration with TIMWE, we offer our Turkcell MaxiPLUS5 customers the convenience of ordering their daily purchases with a specially designed, NFC-enabled refrigerator magnet when they are at home or (in the) office. Going forward, we will continue to pioneer ideas that facilitate our customers’ lives, while revolutionizing their shopping behaviour.”
