Tumblr Adds Buy Button

Tumblr has introduced an action button to posts on its social network.
The buttons – which are labelled buy, pledge or browse, depending on the content – take users directly to listings on Etsy and Artsy stores, crowdfunding site Kickstarter and US volunteering organisation Do Something.
Tumblr isnt the only social network exploring the possibilities of a buy button, though this offering seems to be taking a less direct approach than Twitter or Facebook, which want to make it possible to make a purchase from the original straight from post, using payment details stored as part of the users account. 
For now, the buttons only work on Tumblrs desktop site, though a future mobile rollout seems likely.
