Turkish Delight in Mobile Banking

Turkeys largest bank, IsBank, has announced the launch of its mobile banking application IsCep (which translates as IsPocket). The application was developed in partnership with Turkish mobile technology company Pozitron.
The IsCep application, which uses Pozitrons Java-based IMB technology, can be downloaded to a wide range of handsets. Once customers sign up online for the service, they are able to download the mobile banking application along with Is Bankasi icon to their handset. The application is more advanced than SMS and WAP technologies, says Pozitron, enabling mobile banking anywhere and any time.
Through the applications GUI, customers can access their accounts, check balances, transfer funds and exchange currencies. The service also covers investment inquiries and credit card payments.
There are more than 2.2 billion mobile phones in the world says Pozitron CEO Fatih Isbecer. Turkey has more mobile subscribers than fixed-line. Additionally, the Internet penetration in Turkey is still limited. However, the potential of Internet access through mobile phones is even bigger than the PCs due to widespread use of GSM technology. We believe that this solution will also benefit customers who have limited Internet access and who are willing to do online banking.
The IsCep application is signed and Java-verified by the UTI (Unified Testing Initiative). UTIs member companies are Motorola, Nokia, Orange, Samsung, LG, Sony Ericsson,Vodafone and Sun Microsystems.
Pozitron has developed a number of innovative products for market leading companies. Its mobile betting application developed for IDDAA, which Pozitron says is Turkeys only legitimate betting organization, is the first mobile betting application to be signed and verified by UTI
Pozitron has also developed a Mobile TV client for Digiturk, and earned a Principal partnership from Sun Microsystems for the development of its messaging platform, Boomerang. Boomerang customers include Coca-Cola Turkey, Fortis Bank and Turkcell.
