TurnIntoCash.com, the website that lets users claim cash for their old music and film collections, has teamed up with Mobile Acuity to bring the service to mobile.
The initial partnership sees TurnIntoCash.com integrating Mobile Acuity barcode scanning across all mobile phone platforms including iPhone, Android and BlackBerry, as well as working together to add future visual search functions to the apps.
Rob Fox, founder and managing director of TurnIntoCash.com, says: “We spent quite a bit of time talking to scanning technology companies because we knew that a positive customer experience with our mobile apps would be the key to the success of the business. When we met with Mobile Acuity we were impressed with their knowledge and understanding of the issues we were facing and how easy their technology could be integrated into our apps.
“We have already built and launched an iPhone app which is unique as users no longer have to keep shutting down their camera to see a valuation for their old CD, DVD or game giving them a much better hand held scanning experience and we will be launching the Android and BlackBerry apps very soon with the help of Mobile Acuity.”
Chris Wade, Mobile Acuitys executive chairman, says: “We are delighted to be partnering with TurnIntoCash.com which has had amazing success since its launch, with the iPhone app being downloaded over 1,000 times in its first full week on the iTunes store and is already one of the leading Lifestyle apps in the UK. In the near future we will jointly introduce technology that will enable you to identify multiple CDs, DVDs and games in seconds.”
