Twitch streamers are being called upon to help save lives by joining an award-winning CPR campaign from the British Heart Foundation (BHF) and media agency PHD.
The initiative encourages streamers to use their ‘be right back’ screens to raise awareness about CPR, potentially doubling the chances of survival for those experiencing out-of-hospital cardiac arrest.
The campaign aims to teach viewers the vital skill of CPR through BHF’s free RevivR tool during brief breaks in gameplay.
Popular Twitch streamers like Preach, TwoAngryGamers, and RyanWasTaken have already joined the effort.
Preach shared: “Just two days after I did the RevivR CPR demonstration, a viewer told me they used that information to save their 2-year-old niece. Knowing that something so simple saved a life was overwhelming.”
Streamers can also boost their profile by partnering with the BHF, which has a strong following of over 300,000 on X and nearly 100,000 on Instagram.
Damion Mower, Director of Brand and Acquisition at the BHF, said: “We’re delighted to launch the next stage of our innovative and award-winning campaign with Twitch.
“By transforming your Twitch ‘be right back’ screen as a streamer, you can promote the BHF’s RevivR CPR tool and grow your channel at the same time.
“This campaign shows how the BHF is successfully forging partnerships across the digital world to drive our mission to save lives.”
