Twitter Adds Send Button to Share Tweets Privately

Twitter Send ButtonTwitter has introduced a send message button to its Android and iOS apps, which enables users to privately share tweets direct from the original post.

The button, which appears alongside the reply, retweet and like options, is intended to encourage wider use of Twitters direct message function. Twitter reports that the number of messages sent grew 60 per cent in 2015, and the number of tweets shared privately grew 200 per cent in the second half of the year alone.

Vitally, though, it doesnt give baseline figures for either and based on anecdotal evidence, its one of the less used features of Twitter, something Twitter has worked to combat with the introduction of a number of features including GIFs, emojis and dropping the 142 character limit.
