Twitter Launches Explore Tab to Replace Moments

Twitter ExploreiOS users may notice something different in the next Twitter update they download. From today (26 January), the microblogging site’s app will house all Moments, trends, search and live video in one place – in the hope of making it easier for users to find what they want.

The new ‘Explore’ tab completely replaces the ‘Moments’ tab – which was introduced in October 2015 –  in the Twitter app.

Speaking in a blog post, Twitter product designer Angela Lam said: “Over the past year, we’ve been exploring different ways to make it simpler for people to find and use trends, Moments, and search. During our research process, people told us that the new Explore tab helped them easily find news, what’s trending, and what’s popular right now.”

Although the change has only occurred on iPhones and iPads for the time being, the change will be rolled out to Android devices in the coming weeks.
