Twitter Launches Objective-based Ad Campaigns for SMBs

Twitter has added objective-based campaigns and pricing to its Promoted Tweets ad platform.

Advertisers can be bought on a cost-per-click basis, or another objective from a range including gained followers, app installs and email leads. Twitter has also introduced corresponding reporting tools for tracking the success of these objectives.

Objective-based campaigns have been undergoing alpha testing over the past few months. Twitter is now launching in beta for SMBs (Small and Medium-sized Businesses) and API partners, with a plan to roll out on a by-invitation basis over the next few months.

Its particularly interesting to see Twitter squarely pitching this new offering at SMBs, given reports today that Facebooks increasing ad prices are pushing out smaller advertisers
