Twitter Offers Precise Location Sharing on Mobile

Twitter logoPitney Bowes has been chosen to deliver precise geocoding on Twitters mobile platform so users can opt in to selectively share their location within their tweets.

Pitney Bowes API uses verified latitude and longitude coordinates to offer street-level location accuracy in the UK and other countries.

Users will be given the option to opt out of sharing their location and they will have the ability to delete past location information shared.

This update will mean that advertisers working with Twitter will have access to location-relevant information surrounding tweets about their brand.

Nearly 60 per cent of the 500m daily tweets are sent from mobile devices.
