Environmental charity Global Action Plan has worked with Txtlocal to create a year-long SMS-based national campaign. The campaign will use text-messaging to raise awareness and communicate with supporters.
The partnership is the first of its kind for both organisations, and will see Txtlocal providing a mobile marketing programme, SMS infrastructure and expertise to the charity, enabling it to send texts, promote events and collect data in a way that is less harmful to the environment than other marketing methods, says Txtlocal.
“As part of our environmental mission we wanted to support a charity in a way that was meaningful and sustainable, and at the same time offer a real, value added experience,” says Txtlocals managing director Darren Daws. “The marketing communications tools we have given them will only add to the supporter base. The work that Global Action Plan undertake is vital in our global effort to reduce carbon emissions and sustain the world we live in. The Txtlocal business function supports these efforts and we are delighted to be working with such a worthwhile charity.”
Louise Groom, marketing ,anager at Global Action Plan says: “Were very excited to be working with Txtlocal. Mobile phones are more central than ever to peoples lives and Txtlocal are generously providing us with a valuable tool to directly engage our supporters on a more personal level, helping us grow and develop with technology.”
