Mobile messaging firm txtNation says it is looking to continue its expansion in the Nordics with a aggressive ramp up strategy planned for Q4 this year, after entering into agreements with several Scandinavian operators for increased payouts and faster payment cycles for mobile payment services.
The company is offering new, improved payout rates to customers in Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland. It says that mobile payments have proved a hit with customers, with most preferring the instant purchase of Premium SMS as a billing mechanism.
Mobile penetration rates in Scandinavia are currently amongst the largest in Europe, while consumer spending is among the highest in the western world. Following the introduction of SMS-based mobile payments, txtNation says it will look to offer WAP Billing and MMS services, beginning in Denmark in 2011.
“What separates Scandinavia from the rest of the world is their appetite in leading the pack when it comes to mobile billing,” says txtNation director, Michael Whelan. “This is another significant expansion for us in the Nordics.”
