eReading specialist txtr has announced the launch of a range of customised eBook apps at Samsung Apps stores in various European countries. The app includes specials offers and a custom-managed local eBook store for users owning a Samsung smartphone or tablet.

The stores are localised, with the most relevant, and most up-to-date eBook offerings available in each country. Initially, the txtr eBooks Samsung Edition can be downloaded from Samsung Apps in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Italy, Spain, and Poland. Other European countries will follow over the coming months, alongside tailored promotion campaigns, jointly executed by Samsung, txtr, and local publishers. Txtr notes that it is the only supplier with stores in local languages, and says it provides the largest pan-European eBook content offering, with catalogues in English and in local languages.

“This enlarges the txtr reach tremendously, since Samsung is the market leader in Android-based devices,” says txtr CEO, Christophe Maire. “We are already leaders in Germany – not only do we have the largest German language catalogue of more than 52,000 commercial titles, the download figures confirm that an eReading app is a core service for device makers.”

The txtr solution offers an end-to-end eBook discovery, purchase, read and share experience, built on a back-end platform that includes a store, cloud-based personal library storage, and an extensive international eBook catalogue.
