Uber Moves from App to Mobile Site in India

Uber Dial Mobile SiteUber has introduced a mobile site, dial.uber.com, for customers in India.

The idea is to make its taxi service accessible to customers in the emerging market who might not be able to install the full Uber app onto their device.

Due to its nature, the mobile site isnt able to offer in-app payments and driver tracking. Instead, users pay by cash at the end of their trip, and are connected with their driver using a voice call.

The service is currently available in Nagpur, Kochi, Guwahati, and Jodhpur.

Uber first launched in India back in 2014, and faces stiff competition from local equivalent Ola, especially since it bought up TaxiForSure, the next nearest rival in the market, last year.
