Uber Now Lets You Snap Your Journey While Travelling Direct to a Friend

Uber SnapchatUber has teamed up with Snapchat to enable riders to Snap their journeys without the need to switch apps, as well as giving riders the opportunity to catch a ride directly to a friend.

The Snapchat integration means that passengers can now unlock custom Uber filters while they ride – similar to the geofilters available at specific locations. Existing Snapchat users will see a Snap card in the feed on Uber, and can add another Snap lens to the Uber filters if they wish.

The new location feature lets people request a current static location from a friend, so passengers can travel right to their friend’s exact location. Users must sync their contacts with the Uber app, then type a friend’s name in the ‘where to?’ box. This will then sends a request to the friend and, once they accept, their location is used as the destination for the Uber ride. Uber says it will also automatically share the passenger’s ETA with their friend, once they are on their way.
