UCAS Connect Goes Mobile

UCAS Connect, a one-stop-shop for anyone thinking about joining higher education, relaunched its website on 1 August. After notching up more than 18,000 visitors across 100 different countries and territories in the first 18 days, it has now launched a free app for Android, Nokia and iOS handsets.

The app offers tips, frequently asked questions and video guides, as well as access to UCAS’s interactive search tool. Anyone with a question about university or college can type it in and get relevant answers.

Installing Connect on your phone also gives access to UCAS’s Twitter account and Facebook page, where you can read real-time answers from expert advisers. UCAS Connect has also launched a mobile-optimised version of its website.

Beth Hayes, who has overseen the project as part of UCAS’s Online Experience team says: “The UCAS Connect app provides instant help at the touch of a phone screen, allowing us to reach busy people at a time that suits them. Applicants can get the answers they need without having to call, which is especially valuable to international students.”
