UK mobile network operators saw their annual revenues decline by 2.3 per cent in Q4, 2011, to €5.3bn, according to a report from Telecompaper. Telecompaper attributes the drop to falling voice revenues, which couldnt be offset by revenue from non-voice services, including SMS and data.
The number of mobile SIMs in the UK, excluding MVNOs, grew by 863,000 over 2011 to a total 76.2m. And in Q4, post-paid customers made up more than half the market, with 50.3 percent, for the first time.
Everything Everywhere remained market leader in the UK, with 35 per cent of all customers, followed by Telefonica O2 and Vodafone. In last place was 3, with a 10 per cent share of the market.
