Upstream Opens Up in Asia-Pac

Mobile marketing firm Upstream has extended its operations into the Asia-Pacific region, opening an office in Singapore and securing its first deal with DiGi in Malaysia. The move extends Upstream’s global footprint; the company already executes projects in over 40 countries and partners with leading mobile operators in Europe, S. America, the Middle East, and Africa.

“Upstream’s Marketing Communications Suite is revolutionising the way in which operators all over the world communicate with their customers by turning each operator communication into the most potent sales pitch,” says Isaac Sim, head of sales at Upstream Singapore. “We’re excited to work with DiGi and to be able to demonstrate the revenue- boosting effectiveness of these communications in the Asia-Pacific market.”

Upstream’s 3-month mobile marketing campaign with DiGi Malaysia ran from April to June, targeting DiGi’s pre-paid customers. Darren Poon, DiGi’s head of advanced data services, says the activity generated a healthy revenue increase per participant for the company.

“More importantly, it has helped us to engage and connect with our customers in the mobile internet sphere more effectively,” he says. “Upstream’s professionalism, expertise and ability to adapt to local market demands were instrumental in helping us achieve our goals for the campaign.”
Upstream’s clients include Vodafone, Orange, Zain, Coca-Cola, Nestlé and Unilever.
