The city of Canton Ohio is laying claim the most QR-friendly city in the US thanks to a marketing campaign being put together by QR Code specialist Think Roth to promote events in the city.
Arts Festival organiser Arts in Stark is using a QR Code on the back of their printed map to enable users to download the map to their phone. Iris restaurant has one in their window that takes you to their menu, while Buzzbin magazine has one that takes you to its event page. ThinkRoth has also deployed QR Codes for several other companies.
The company says it is doing it for free to show what can be done with the technology and how it can be used. The company is also tracking the data from each scan and will reveals usage statistics in December.
