USA TODAY Unveils 30th Birthday Multiplatform Redesign

USA Today is undergoing a 30th birthday redesign – including new smartphone and tablet apps, as well as its first Facebook app.

The tablet app – and redesigned tablet-friendly website – will feature live video coverage, real-time headlines, interactive weather mapping, and controls that let the audience customise how they view stories.

USA Today promises premium cross-platform advertising, which they say will deliver the emotional impact of television with the drill-down capability of digital.

“We are making a real investment in USA Today, and putting a major focus on reinvigorating the value of print media while introducing new digital products in order to provide our readers with a unique perspective and relevant context on a full range of issues, across all mediums,” said Larry Kramer, president and publisher of USA Today. “We are revolutionising the way we cover and distribute the news in relevant ways that inform and entertain our readers.”
