Mobile marketing and advertising technology firm Velti has announced two key additions to its management team. Sally Rau joins as chief administrative officer and general counsel, while Ian Arthurs has been appointed to the position of VP, customer development.
Rau joins Velti from DLA Piper, a leading legal services provider, with 3,500 lawyers located in 30 countries and 69 offices throughout Asia, Europe, the Middle East and the US. She brings over 25 years’ experience as a corporate and securities lawyer. As a partner at DLA, she focused on public company representation, corporate governance, capital markets and mergers and acquisitions—and also served as lead outside counsel for Velti. At Velti, she will focus on the company’s day to day administration, corporate governance, legal and global compliance matters. She holds a J.D. from the University of Oregon and an A.B. from the University of California, Berkeley.
Arthurs joins Velti after three years at Google, where he led sales and account management for Travel and Retail verticals. His global teams delivered and optimized innovative online marketing strategies for high growth clients, and in doing so helped define Google’s US AdWords service model. Arthurs has over 10 years’ marketing experience in top-tier consumer brand management and strategy consulting. At Velti, he will head up vertical proposition development, US account management, and US ad operations. He has an MBA from Tuck School of Business, Dartmouth College, and an M.A. from University of Glasgow.
“We’re excited to have Sally and Ian join our management team,” says Velti CEO, Alex Moukas. “With the addition of these talented leaders, we continue to build aggressively upon our global foundation and reputation, taking Velti to the next level.”
Velti employs over 500 people worldwide, with 120 of these in sales and marketing. The company also employs more than 240 software engineers and developers to build its Velti mGage mobile marketing and advertising platform, on which more than 2,000 campaigns were delivered in 2009.
