Verizon Wireless has announced that it has deployed Mobile Device Management (MDM) software from Motive to manage the 4G LTE smartphones and tablets on its 4G LTE network.
Motive, a division of Alcatel-Lucent, is supplying Verizon with a solution that allows customers to set up their 4G LTE devices and automatically receive software updates and upgrades.
“Its important that our customers and employees can set up and use 4G LTE devices and applications as easily and seamlessly as possible, so they can further optimise how they experience the power and speed of our 4G LTE network,” says Ed Diaz, executive director, of network at Verizon Wireless. “The Motive solution is critical to delivering that experience.”
Verizon launched the worlds first large-scale 4G LTE network in December 2010, and now says it covers half of the American population.
“Verizon Wireless is perfectly positioned to help satisfy the consumer appetite for new 4G LTE products and services,” says Robert Vrij, president of Alcatel-Lucents America region. “The easier and more intuitive we can make device set-up and management, the more positive the overall experience is for the end user. Our Motive solution enables efficient, well-organised device-management to help transform the customer experience.”
