Vipera has provided the technology for a Ministry of Interior mobile service for citizens, expatriates and visitors in Qatar. The Metrash 2 service, offered through Mannai Corporation, Viperas local partner in Qatar, includes technology to manage traffic violation, country exit and exit permit services.
Metrash 2, which can be used in English or Arabic, enables citizens to pay for government services using debit and credit cards. The option to pay via direct debit is due to be incorporated, as well as visa application and passport services.
Marco Casartelli, chief executive of Vipera, says: “This new contract reinforces Vipera’s position as a growing provider of mobile services to organisations in the Middle East. Metrash 2 provides a secure, direct communication channel between the Qatari government and its citizens, and means that people can pay for all government services from their mobile phones. We were able to deliver this platform to the Ministry in just 10 weeks thanks to out-the-box features, its flexibility to adapt to different scenarios, and good project management.”
