Virgin India Mobile Partners with GetJar

Virgin Mobile India has announced an alliance with GetJar, the world’s largest cross-platform mobile app store. GetJar currently offers more than 70,000 free mobile games and apps to its users. The alliance will see Virgin Mobile India offer its customers access to a range of applications covering games, education, social networking, entertainment, finance, food, health, search, lifestyle and several other utility applications.

Virgin Mobile subscribers can access the GetJar app catalogue at http://m.virginin.getjar.com via their mobile browser. The link is currently available on Virgin Mobile India’s WAP portal (Vbytes) across 16 circles – Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu & Chennai, Kerala, Orissa, Mumbai & Maharashtra, Kolkata & West Bengal, Haryana, Bihar, MP&CG, Punjab, UP (E) and UP (W). Virgin Mobile India users will be able to download all apps free of charge, though data browsing charges of 1p/kb will be charged on access.
