Virgin Mobile has teamed up with with Flytxt and ActiveMedia Technology to offer its customers a mobile ticketing queue-jumping facility.
The Q Jump promotion will give Virgin Mobile music fans faster access to live music at venues throughout the UK throughout the year by enabling them to go to the front of the entrance queue with a friend at selected gigs at Carling Academy venues throughout the UK.
Flytxt will provide the delivery and mobile marketing technology to power the campaign, while ActiveMedia Technologys mobile voucher and redemption software will be used in conjunction with its RAPOS (Redemption At Point Of Sale) terminals to validate and capture data from the tickets.
Advertising at participating venues will encourage Virgin Mobile customers to text the word Qjump to 26666 to receive a Q Jump ticket. The unique barcode tickets will then be redeemed at the venue using the RAPOS terminals.
ActiveMedias patent-pending, barcode ticket delivery, management and redemption platform delivers secure barcoded tickets to mobile phones which can be read by off-the-shelf, hand held web cams, rather than traditional bespoke terminals. Once scanned, information from the barcode is passed from the webcam to a PC, handheld device or retail Epos system where it is authenticated by ActiveMedias RAPOS software.
Our customers love music, so what better way to reward them for their loyalty than letting them jump the queue says Virgin Mobile Sponsorship & Events Manager, Rosie Newey. The success of our mobile ticketing campaign at V Festival has encouraged us to expand the concept, making good music more easily accessible to a much wider customer base.
The national promotion follows a successful trial of Virgin Mobile QJump at Carling Academy Birmingham in October.
