Visa Partners with Singtel for mCash Payments

Visa has entered into a strategic alliance with Singaporean operator SingTel which will see Visas prepaid accounts linked to mCash, SingTels mobile money solution in Singapore and Australia.
As a result, consumers will be able to use NFC-enabled smartphones to make payments at the 12,000 Visa payWave acceptance points in Singapore and 100,000 in Australia, as well as making online purchases by entering the Visa prepaid account number linked to their mCash account. 
“This alliance with SingTel demonstrates Visa’s commitment to driving the evolution of mobile payment services in partnership with major multinational MNOs in developed and emerging markets,” said Ooi Huey Tyng, Visa country manager, Singapore and Brunei. “This alliance will deliver more mobile payment solutions to some of our key developed markets in Asia Pacific, backed by the security, trust and global acceptance the Visa brand represents.”
