ROK Entertainment Group has announced the appointment of Paul Bates as Business Development Director. Bates joins ROK after eight years at Vodafone, where he was Group Head of Business Applications and Services.
Bates joins ROK as the company shifts from application development into full-blown commercial implementation worldwide. ROK has developed a tool-box of 12 innovative applications in the last three years, with more in the pipeline, including DRM-protected, content-loaded, memory cards and 2.5G mass-market mobile TV over GPRS and via Wi-Fi. ROK is now directing major effort into the licensing of these technologies, most of which are patented or patent-pending, to selected operators and manufacturers worldwide.
Bates joins ROKs existing marketing team, with specific responsibility for the development of partnerships with these networks and manufacturers, to enable the integration of new technologies onto handsets, and delivery of services to mobile customers.
