Nordic on-demand video service Voddler has launched an Android app that allows users to stream video to their device.
The Android app joins the companys iPhone app and web service.
Voddler has a catalogue of around 4,500 films, and films can be rented or watched for free, with ad support. The service is currently available in Sweden, Norway, Denmark and Finland.
“When we launched the iPhone-app this spring, our daily views doubled,” says Oskar Boding, head of sales at Voddler. “Our experience since then show that ads before a movie is seen as something natural and non-invasive on the mobile. This gives advertisers the chance to place commercials in a mobile phone in an efficient way that doesnt disturb the viewer.”
